In mid August, I had a surgery to remove some dead bone off the front of my tibia and plastic surgery to put a muscle flap over the tibia to protect it and replace the skin that was too damaged to reuse. (I've been dealing with the bone disease since early childhood.) By the end of October, I was walking around unassisted and looking forward to getting back on the boat again. The skin graft over the muscle flap was not a 100% healed, tho.
Then comes November 4th, a young lady coming down the road towards us crossed completely over the middle stripes and takes out the car ahead of us. Thinking it would be a head-on collision, I dodged left to avoid it but the other two cars managed to serve a bit at the last second. This caused the oncoming car to rotate back into the road and we caught the rear end of her car. Down through the ditch and we t-boned a tree. And yeah, broke my leg under the muscle flap. I get a cast put on but they have to cut a window in it so that we can continue to address the skin graft healing. So that's why there is a "Ace" bandage wrapped around my cast.
