After 14 years, hull #66 is back where she belongs! I've owned her for the last 4 years, working on her when I could. We are not "finished", if that's ever a word associated with our boats, but seeing her floating has helped motivate me to keep going and I hope to be sailing soon. Thanks to all the forum members here who have provided fantastic and timely advice and support. Cheers

P.S. About a week after the launch, I started the motor (W40) for the first time. After popping off with starting fluid, it smoothed out and started to purr like a kitten, some 14 years after it last ran!

Images of a boat hanging in slings just touching the water is iconic. When I was new to boating, my first haulout involved blister repair, fairing and other work that kept me busy for months of nights and weekends learning as I went. At the time, I thought that was a big undertaking...

As my long list of tasks showed only few lines without a strikethrough I actually had brief dreams of what I saw during haulout – the boat hanging from the gantry, but this time waiting for the ripple of water when keel first touched. I took several photos of that and never forgot it when seeing any boat splash.

Congrats on bringing her home. Great name by the way...

Oh my goodness, thank you so much Dave! I completely agree with your sentiment. Took video to remember that moment too.

Turned the engine off and had our maiden sail last Friday. I could not believe how much the boat loved the wind and how easy to handle she was. It was great to get a little payback from all this work! I spent 4.5 hours sailing with a friend in winds from 10-25, whitecaps, next to no weather helm, super easy to tack (especially with a 100% jib right?), sailed like a big scow. Couldn't be more pleased. Cheers y'all!
