I am curious about your raised helm seat. Can you post some more photos to see if it is something I want to create for VANORA (#198)?

Also, if there are others who are interested, I will make a mold and make a revised seat that goes completely across looking a bit like a sine wave (slightly raised at either end, too). I had a seat like this on a Morgan 323 and it was great for sitting on at center or for sitting on the leeward side without sliding off against the gunwhale.

This is the only decent shot of the seat I have, but will be bringing it home soon for maintenance coats.

Is that a Rocna anchor hanging on your bow? How do you like it so far? I've been using a Bruce and a Delta with very good results for the bay, but I was impressed with the demonstrations of the Rocna at the boat show.

Hi Tom,

It's a Mason Supreme, less expensive version of the Ronca (still not sure who copied who). Got tired of plowing furrows with the old CQR so we added the anchor and 100' of chain last spring. So far I'm very happy with it, set's first time and sticks like glue. Only downside is you'll need a washdown pump as it's really good at bringing up half the bay's slimy muck when you raise it.

Ditto, I picked up a 25 KG Rocna a few years ago and it sets and holds really well.

Glenn,
Thanks for the input. I installed a wash-down pump a few years back when I installed the windlass.....no more mud on the hands/deck!!! Very Happy

It was an easy install, I put in a "T" off of the sink drain and it works great plus winterizing it is a piece of cake.....just close the seacock, pour in anti-freeze into the sink and turn on the pump. Same thing for the head since it uses the same seacock/intake.
