Left mine at Indiantown last summer, the general opinion of the locals was ,water will get in somewhere,a garboard plug is safer.
So I got an angle drill in the deepest part of the sump and drilled out, then from outside hole sawed a one inch hole, for last summer I put a sink drain screen in to prevent insects and mice. Then when launch time came I fitted a bronze flange and plug from Hamilton marine. No more worries.
Did you go port or starboard? How much material was there to drill through?
